There are open positions for Summer Internships at the Robotics Research Group. Apply with a group of 2-4 students and an idea to get shortlisted, as the working space is limited. You can get some project ideas here.
Our Focus Research Areas are:
Security Robotics
Invited in the Technology Foresight federal think tank for Robotics in Islamabad on 17-08-2017.
I shall be on a research visit to Germany from 20-07-17 till 15-08-17. There I shall also attend the WFAR-12 workshop.
WFAR-13 Workshop is finalized to be held on 12-14 Oct 2017 in Lahore.
I have been recently working majorly on Terrain Classification for outdoor mobile robots. I have collected and used some datasets from the robots in my research group. I shall publish these datasets here in the coming days. You are free to use these datasets, provided you cite the corresponding research paper in your publications.
Dataset-1: This dataset was collected onboard a flying robot. It contains 6 different terrain types. The images were captured from a firefly VGA camera mounted on a quadrocopter. I categorized the terrains into 6 categories, but if you want, you can categorize them into lesser or more categories. There are two folders. One contains the original images, and the second folder contains the corresponding color coded images. This dataset was used in [khan2012]
Dataset-2: This dataset was collected from an outdoor Wheeled robot. This dataset contains 5 different terrain types. [khan2011]
Dataset-3: This dataset was also collected onboard an outdoor Wheeled robot, but it was captured using a Marlin camera.
